Location & Arrival

The spacious Youth Hostel is quietly located to the south-west of the city, immediately on the Ammer river bank. The Kofel, landmark of Oberammergau, rises up from behind the Hostel.
It is only a couple of minutes walk to the city centre, the ski slopes or access to the most beautiful hikes in the mountains. The Ammergau Alps are a one-of-a-kind landscape, highly appreciated by King Ludwig II, who chose to build his castles here.
With ony 5,000 inhabitants, Oberammergau is still an idyllic village today. It is famous as Passion Play location, located on the Ammer river and surrounded by mountains.
